I noticed that most of my friends favor summer, and I can understand why; the long, sunny days are enjoyable. However, in my part of the world, it becomes so hot that at times I don't even want to go out beyond my door. The sun is so intense that it makes the ground glow and the grass turns brown. Suddenly the weather changes, and the air becomes cool and refreshing, so you can open the windows and let in a pleasant breeze. It's as if all of it has begun again.
This is when autumn actually begins; it seems as though all the changes happen overnight. The trees, which have been green all summer, turn bright red, orange, and yellow, and everything looks as though it has been freshly painted. I enjoy walking down my street and watching the leaves fall and accumulate along the sidewalks. On weekends, I take a walk and kick through the crisp leaves, enjoying the sound they make under my shoes. That sound always indicates to me that autumn has arrived, and it makes me happy.
The sky also changes. In summer, it is bright blue, but in the fall the sun is lower, and the light becomes soft and golden. I enjoy the clouds when they appear thin and stretched, almost like cotton candy. Fall sunsets turn everything pink and orange, like a picture. In the evenings, I sit on the porch with a blanket, have a cup of hot chocolate, and watch the sun set.
When the weather turns cold, I put on my sweatpants and my favorite sweaters. There is a pleasant feeling in curling up with a good book after a long day. Today I went to my favorite coffee shop and saw someone reading while eating pumpkin bread. It's also about how you feel inside in autumn.
After a busy summer, autumn feels much quieter, and I often feel like the world moves more slowly. For example, I like to walk in the park and listen to the wind moving through the trees. Sometimes, when I want to remember what I see, I take a notebook with me to write down what I notice around me. Because autumn has a peaceful mood, it helps me notice the small things in nature and feel calm and relaxed.
I have noticed that many people enjoy the autumn season because it signals that winter is on its way. The days become shorter and the nights turn colder. I believe this is one reason autumn is so special; it reminds us that change is constant and that this is perfectly all right. Each time I see the leaves change color, I remember that nothing stays the same forever, and that thought gives me hope and helps me accept life's changes.
Fall is full of great holidays, and my favorites are Halloween and Thanksgiving because they fall in my favorite season. On Halloween, I like to get dressed up in costumes and tell frightening stories with my friends. Each year, my friends and I try to come up with original costumes, and sometimes we have small parties where we play games and eat spooky treats.
One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to go to the pumpkin patch with my family. When we get there, we look for the biggest pumpkins we can find and use them to decorate our porch, along with bright gourds and colorful autumn leaves. For me, these moments make fall feel magical and fill me with excitement and gratitude. I also love how fresh the air smells and how clear the sky looks during these days. Finally, the memories I make every year remind me of how special autumn is.
To begin with, we never carve our pumpkins; instead, we use them as decorations during Halloween. In addition, Thanksgiving is special because it brings so many traditions, especially when the whole family gathers for a big meal and talks about what we’re thankful for. Because of this, the holidays are even more enjoyable because of the bright leaves outside and the cool, fresh air. All in all, autumn makes these celebrations even more pleasant.
Ultimately, fall is about dressing in warmer clothing and enjoying the activities that make it such a special and exciting time. Although summer has its advantages, I am happiest in the fall. I enjoy being outdoors, taking it easy, and spending time with my family and friends. For that reason, autumn will always be my favorite season. Each year, I look forward to it because it makes me feel cozy and happy, and I always remember the good times. I hope to create memories every year that I can treasure forever. Happy Fall, everyone!
