Advertising Policy
Effective date: October 25, 2026
Writing Café Journal is first and always a home for writers and readers. Any advertising that appears on this platform must earn its place by respecting that mission. This policy defines our standards — what we will accept, what we will not, and how we keep editorial content free from commercial influence.
1. Our Core Commitment
Editorial independence is non-negotiable. No advertiser can influence, shape, or suppress any content on Writing Café Journal. The stories we publish, the writers we feature, and the editorial decisions we make are never for sale.
All advertising is clearly labeled. Any sponsored content, paid placement, or partner post will be visibly marked "Sponsored," "Advertisement," or "Partner." Readers will always know what is editorial and what is paid.
We review every advertiser. We do not use open ad exchanges that serve random ads. Every advertising partner is reviewed and approved before any placement appears on the site.
2. What We Accept and What We Don't

3. Advertising Formats
Writing Café Journal offers the following placement types. All placements are subject to availability and editorial approval:
- Site Banner Ads — tasteful, clearly labeled banner placements on article and category pages. We do not use interstitials, pop-ups, or auto-play video ads.
- Newsletter Sponsorship — a single, clearly labeled sponsor mention in our editorial newsletter. Sponsor copy is reviewed and approved before sending.
- Sponsored Content — a clearly labeled "Partner" article written in the voice of Writing Café Journal, focused on topics relevant to writers and readers. We write the copy or must approve any copy provided. This is always visibly labeled as sponsored.
- Category Sponsorship — exclusive sponsor of a content category for a defined period. Subject to strict category-alignment review.
We do not offer advertorial placements that are designed to look like editorial content. We do not place ads within the body of published stories.
4. Pricing and Terms
Advertising rates are provided upon inquiry. Placements are billed in advance. Writing Café Journal reserves the right to refuse, remove, or modify any advertisement at any time without refund if the ad is found to violate this policy or to be misrepresented during the approval process.
All advertising agreements are governed by a separate insertion order or advertising agreement signed by both parties.
5. Privacy and Data
Writing Café Journal does not share personally identifiable information about our readers or writers with advertisers. Aggregate, non-identifying traffic information (page views, general audience demographics) may be shared for the purpose of media kit transparency only.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Advertising Policy at any time. Active advertising partners will be notified of material changes. Continued advertising after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
