I find myself racing
to that place where my beloved had chosen.
I find myself jittering my feet
as I wait for my beloved.
I find myself afraid;
the tick-tock of the clock tears my heart.
My beloved is not here yet.
Behold!
I find myself displeased
that my darling came in late.
I find myself acting all the more swiftly
to put aside my beloved's shortcoming,
For the night is far too gone,
and the time too little
to fit childishness and my heartache
into one meeting.
I find my darling's eyes teary
as we bid each other goodnight,
but no matter,
I will take my place amongst the keepers of the night
and wait for my darling's face
more than they that watch for the morning.

I loved this so much. It depicted the true longing of waiting for my beloved. Amazing work!
