Breath

July 22, 2026
Cigarette burns, her gaze snares mine Acceptance blurred, "my days share thine" Repentance, slurred, in case she cries Intense response negates replies No, nothing numbs, but STILL! I try Ensconced in this ho-hum, I die Discipline, this conundrum fries Critic's spit on my gravestone, Lies What light paints hope upon my eyes Smile bright, the saints elope besides Beguiled sigh, my disguise subsides Right me this night, insane sunrise

Your first line drew me in! I love the way you play with rhyme.
