It has been many times said Not to view each day with any dread Because in the end we all end up dead. So just shut up, let your protests be muffled. The deck has already been shuffled. So here’s the deal—live your life unruffled.  This is the way it has been designed. It does not matter that no contract is signed. Do the work of living and be so resigned.

About the Poet
Bruce Morton
Bruce Morton is an old guy who divides his time between Montana and Arizona, where his muse sometimes accommodates his musing. His head occupies the space where nihilism, stoicism, and the existential intersect. He is the author of Planet Mort (FootHills Publishing, 2024) and the chapbook Olive-drab Khaki Blues (FootHills, 2026). His poems have appeared in numerous online and print venues.
