LIGHT SADNESS
August 17, 2026
I feel a little bit sad today, like a fog
that covers a field; it makes the joy
of knowing you vanish and doesn’t
leave me in peace.
It’s because of those high walls that
you raise against me like pieces of
ice; they try to keep me away and
not approach a fire that won’t go out.
I feel a little bit sad today, and this
does not allow me to close my eyes.
Yet I try to fill my restless soul with
emotion, wandering in the midst of
our memories as if I am drunk.

The poem conveys a deep, inner ache born of the inability to reach a beloved—an anguish caused by the walls they have erected and the distances they have placed between them. The poet reflects a state of mind caught between the happiness brought by love and the pain caused by these obstacles. Congratulations!
