No Turning Back

April 21, 2026
I'm a mile deep and miles along the path I have chosen I'm committed to keep going Why stop without a reason? Many a meadow have I crossed with swaying golden daffodils Many a river have I bridged filled with purple hyacinths Those mountain tops in the distance have always deeply entranced me How can then those valleys deep, separate from the mountains be? Sweet chirping and choruses of cicadas are sounds that cheer me And then there's that gurgling brook relating its own story Why would I even think of ever turning my back on this windfall of a journey? How many souls have the privilege of treading new territory? Of not being tied down but absconding free!
