Regret

April 24, 2026
I roam the barren rooms of lost dreams, a ghost, in search of all that should have been. I find there only things as they are. Unwanted demons unworthy of a thought, they glare at me from the darkness. Refusing to be ignored, they devour me with hungry eyes, flawed offspring begging for a loving touch. Acceptance. I have none to give, for my grief blinds me, a shroud pulled tight. I steer past them lurching into empty spaces where my longings once lived and flourished, searching in vain for all that I hoped would be, still only finding things as they are.
