Silence's Brittle Peace
June 28, 2026
Down these shoulders slide this sky's sheet of reflection, pink
In my palms, secretly, are these screams from me received
Repeat after me, says only He, the Almighty
You did this
You did this
Upon black street, coated with soil soft, I do curl
Tinted blue in judgment, my spirit aloft does whirl
I know this to be a representative of Me
Pronouns shouted loudly, a handless puppet's bleak scream
When the chasm drops deep without a bottom flat seen
Does this black Light screen naught but through the bulb's bleak, thin sheen
Scratch more than my own flesh may these fierce, hard, red nails pierce
Fear, the weighted blanket of time upon dark sails leers
A tumble, tumble, spin up yet none toward her soon
The slam is a lesson in boldness, forward it looms
Seek not the tension of the total backward, to doom
Appease God with the blessing of an old lesson's plume
Circulation interrupted by wrapped fingers, tight
Paint the mundane things bright white as her eyes nigh seem wide
I cough, cough, but my lips match rhythms of only hers
Her gaze blasts breath in the schisms of this lonely verse
