The Conception of Blue
October 1, 2026
The last color which
was given a name
was blue.
Six thousand years ago
the stark opposites named
black and white
were birthed.
Perhaps millenia passed before
they came to represent good and evil.
The offensive blood of war,
a blotch of bright danger,
was dubbed the red of survival.
Green crops, fragrant pines,
and cypress four thousand years old
came to bloom in the yellow sunshine.
But the elusive sky with arms
wrapped around the earth
warranted no identification.
