Weather report
August 24, 2026
instead of desire
we talk about the weather
the mostly sunny days the nights saturated
with a large measure of dankness
we talk about the sky
partly cloudy then coral fuchsia magenta
the thunderstorms raging through Sunday
the clothes that did not dry
we talk about the light
that lasts thirteen hours and forty- three minutes
when it fades the moon a waxing gibbous
an incomplete poem
we talk about the wind
turning into strong gusts as your fingers slightly
brush my arm the thermal surge
in my cheeks
that risk of rain
