Whispers on the Water

June 23, 2026
I hear the ripples of the sea. Her silhouette stares back at me. The air is cool. Our spirits listen. The moon is full. Her eyes glisten. I hear her whispers come to me, traveling softly on the breeze. My thoughts beat drums inside my head. I try to speak. My tongue is dead. Soon, she'll leave, and I'll stay here. I won't see her for many years. But, on this night, we're side-by-side. Her whispers mingle with the tide.
