Words Reserved for a Judoka

October 10, 2026
I have walked a mere thousand miles Perfumed, bludgeoned feet—never enough I have hoarded resentment in unkempt piles —All while learning to be tough Detesting clocks—detesting clipboards Detesting sweat-drenched floormats Detesting the sound of saccharine chords Detesting the sight of flimsy acrobats Yet I watched—spectating the program Watching chiefs and emperors play —Rearranging every vague anagram —Keeping brass woodwinds at bay Caterpillars gnaw at my stomach —When the department utters a name A silence fell—my skull was struck —Still, the answer never came
